Center for Evaluation and Education Policy (CEEP) at Indiana University

The purpose of the Center for Evaluation and Education Policy (CEEP) at Indiana University is to promote and support rigorous program evaluation and education policy research. Recent center projects include evaluations of large scale scientifically-based literacy initiatives, professional development programs, teacher education, school choice initiatives, and comprehensive school reform programs. CEEP not only brings to its projects extensive experience and expertise related to various content areas such as education and health and community initiatives, but also has strong expertise with diverse methodologies and evaluation approaches, including the following: quantitative and qualitative methodologies; formative and summative evaluation; and experimental and quasi-experimental design evaluation. CEEP has conducted numerous evaluations at the national, regional, and local levels, including intensive statewide evaluations of various programs in more than 7 states and providing evaluation services and technical assistance to some extent across all 50 states.

CEEP is located at Indiana University, although its operations are semi-autonomous and fully self-funded. The Center has over 60 researchers and support staff, with most senior personnel holding doctoral degrees and additional advanced training. The Center has a dynamic professional development program that provides staff with training in the latest conceptual, methodological, and organizational strategies and advances. Center-staff frequently publish in major journals and present their work at major conferences.
