Adding value to your communications with clarity and style
Synergy Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) produces communications products that make our clients' vision come alive on paper and on screen. SEI's researchers, writers, and editors bring specific subject matter experience to all client projects. They understand the nuances that matter in writing about complex subjects such as substance abuse treatment or educational policy research. They will draft and polish messages that are clear, concise, and comprehensive. Our editors perform quality assurance reviews on hundreds of reports, manuals, proceedings, journals, newsletters, brochures, books, and other documents, annually. Our experienced graphic designers ensure that communications products—from simple name badges to complex Web sites—convey our client's message in a visually engaging format and feel. All of our communications products conform to the client's branding and technical specifications. All of our print packages meet full Government Printing Office (GPO) specifications and every Web page and document is tested to ensure Section 508 compliance.
Writing. SEI skillfully drafts informational, academic, and technical materials in the areas of education, mental health, science, and substance abuse treatment and prevention, and we tailor these materials to diverse target audiences. We are experienced and adept in presenting complex technical and scientific information for a variety of audiences.
Editing. SEI reviews publications for grammar, style, consistency, and substance using the GPO style manual, federal agency-specific guides, and specified style manuals such as those prepared by the American Psychological Association, the Associated Press, and the University of Chicago Press. We are experienced in performing meticulous and accurate quality control reviews of data-rich documents
Graphic Design. SEI produces high-quality, original print and Web-based graphic products, including Web pages.
Section 508 Compliance. SEI Web designers, graphic artists, and print format specialists ensure that all documents are fully compliant with the latest standards and requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Projects
National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). SEI is responsible for final copyediting, quality assurance reviews, and graphic design production prior to the release of NCES products (e.g., statistical analyses, issue briefs, working papers, handbooks, directories, brochures, technical reports, newsletters, and conference reports) for the Elementary/ Secondary and Library Studies Division, the National Assessment of Adult Literacy program, the Early Childhood, International, and Crosscutting Studies Division. The SEI Communication Services Department also creates Web PDF files and prepares materials for printing at the Government Printing Office.
National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). SEI's support to NIDA includes the development of various print and electronic products. For a constituency research and dissemination contract, our graphic designers formatted and distributed The NIDA Connector, a Web-based newsletter issued periodically by the Office of Science Policy and Communications to update constituent organizations and their members about NIDA research and related activities, funding news, upcoming meetings, and other items of interest. Web designers developed a dedicated Web page for the Science of Addiction and Recovery training to support continuing professional development of participants and people in long-term recovery, their families, friends, and allies.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). In support of the NIDA/ SAMHSA Blending Initiative, SEI content experts and graphic designers designed and produced a CD-ROM packet titled The Science of Treatment, which contains five awareness and training modules that had been developed through the NIDA/SAMHSA Blending Initiative. The packet holds five CD-ROMs in an attractive folder with tabbed sections and pages that present research summaries. We also provide communication services support to SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention 2-year Fellowship Program, which is focused on training in areas such as communication, health education and promotion, epidemiology, social marketing, and cultural competency. Web and graphic designers produced the program's informational and application sites, and our graphic artists and writers drafted the program handbook aimed at mentors and fellows.
